You probably know by now that raising children is no piece of cake. True, it is a joy and we love our kids, but truth be told, it takes a lot of energy out of you. Unless you make a good amount of money a year and can "outsource" the work, we parents have to juggle taking care of the kids plus the maintenance of the home, the never-ending chores (and yes, I do help as much as I can at home). So, imagine how much effort it takes to do all of this, plus raise one, two, three or more kids - and do it all on your own as a single mom. Single moms have to earn the income to support their children, keep the house standing, pass life values on to their children, be a mentor, disciplinarian, plus try to find time to make (and keep) friends, have an apparently sane look on their faces to show the world that they are "making it" - doing all of this, alone. more →

About a week ago, my wife and I took our girls for a walk around the neighborhood. You know, to relax and enjoy a beautiful 74-degree summer afternoon with them. I took my camera along in case I could get some candid shots of the girls being themselves. Little did I know, it was going to be an opportunity to reflect on who our  little ones are becoming - those little girls that have found an important space in our hearts.
